Giving back to the communities in which they do business is a top priority for J. Durham & Associates. Among their most recent charitable actions was overseeing the auctions at A Wild Affair at Blue Springs, a fundraising event held this summer on Blue Springs Plantation to benefit the Flint Riverquarium.

Scott Loehr, chief executive officer of the Flint Riverquarium, thanked J. Durham & Associates for their generosity of service and for enabling the facility to fulfill its unique mission of environmental education and exemplary stewardship of the Flint River. This was the second year J. Durham & Associates has participated in the event.

In Addition, J. Durham & Associates volunteered to assist with a benefit auction of the Albany Advocacy Resource Center held at the Knights of Columbus. More than 200 people turned out for the event, during which 150 items were auctions, said Annette Bowling, executive director for the center.

"That fundraiser helps us meet the needs of persons with physical and developmental needs in Dougherty and surrounding counties," she said. "Without people like J. Durham & Associates to donate their time to help us raise funds, there would be a lot of unmet needs for people with disabilities in our area."

The fundraiser is an annual event for Albany ARC. The agency was founded in 1963 to advocate on behalf of persons with mental retardation and has become one of the largest and most successful private provider agencies in Georgia.
