J. Durham and Associates recently donated auction services for the fund raising efforts of the Terrell County Humane Society, which is working to open a “no kill” shelter for animals.

“Because we are not-for-profit we don’t receive any funding from government sources,” says Lucie Beeley of the Humane Society. “The fact that Joe Durham and his employees take the time out of their busy schedules to do this really means a lot to us.” Among the highlights of the items up for auction were the former furnishings of the recently remodeled Bank of Terrell.

‘When we began renovating, we had a number of employees saying they’d like to have this piece or that piece,” said Ed Schuler, bank president. “We decided to donate all the items the auction so anyone interested in them could bid on them. We desperately need another shelter in Dawson and think it’s a very worthy cause.”

Durham & Associates routinely meets requests for their services for various charity and not-for-profit organizations throughout the community, including Boy Scouts of America, Lee County Chamber of Commerce, Hunny Pot Stables therapeutic riding center and the local school system.

“We’re always proud to join forces with these organizations and contribute to the effort of local charities,” says Joe Durham Sr. “We think it’s a responsible business decision as well as a sound investment to make for the communities in which we live and do business.”
